Chemical Peels

Chemical Peels remove the outer layers of skin to enhance the appearance as well as improve it functionality.

About Chemical Peels

Chemical peels are cosmetic treatments used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin by applying a chemical solution to exfoliate the outermost layers. This process removes dead skin cells, stimulates cell turnover, and encourages the growth of new, healthy skin cells. Chemical peels can address a variety of skin concerns, from fine lines and wrinkles to acne scars and uneven pigmentation. Here’s an overview of chemical peels:

1.Types of Chemical Peels:

    • VI Peel Original: Great for all skins groups and skin types. Benefits include tighter looking skin, smoother texture and renewed radiance. The peel is specifically formulated to rejuvenate, refresh and reset for rapid visible results.Best for sensitive skin, early signs of aging and rough texture.
    • VI Peel Advanced: Ideal for mature clients that struggle with deep set wrinkles and loss of elasticity. The peel penetrates deeper into the skin, enhancing collagen stimulation increasing cell turnover, helping firm the skin.
    • VI Peel Precision Plus: Perfect for skin concerns including Sun Damage, Melasma and Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH). Medium in depth this peel suppresses the production of melanin while promoting rapid cell turnover for a more even and bright skin tone.

2.Procedure:

    • Prior to the peel, the skin is thoroughly cleansed to remove any oils or impurities.
    • The chemical solution is applied to the skin using a brush, sponge, or cotton pad.
    • Some peels may cause a tingling or burning sensation during application, which usually subsides quickly.
    • After the peel, the skin may appear red, tight, and slightly swollen, similar to a sunburn.

3.Benefits:

    • Improves skin texture and tone
    • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
    • Minimizes acne and acne scars
    • Evens out pigmentation irregularities, such as sunspots or melasma
    • Stimulates collagen production, leading to firmer, more youthful-looking skin

4.Recovery:

    • The recovery time depends on the depth of the peel. Superficial peels may cause minimal peeling and redness, with little to no downtime. Medium peels may result in several days of downtime, during which the skin may peel, flake, and temporarily appear reddened.
    • It’s essential to protect the skin from sun exposure during the recovery period and follow post-peel care instructions provided by your skincare professional.

5.Results:

    • Peels produce noticeable improvements in skin texture, tone and hyperpigmentation after a single treatment.
    • Best results are seen when peels are done in a series of three.
